18th EBDC Business Social

The 18th Hillsborough Township "Economic & Business Development Commission" Business Social will be held on Wednesday, May 16th at 5:00 PM. The event will be held at the Royce Brook which is located at 201 Hamilton Road. www.RoyceBrook.com.
This past fall's event had over 200 registered attendees. This is a great opportunity, particularly for newer businesses in Hillsborough, to meet with their fellow business colleagues and other Township officials including those from the business permitting and inspections Departments.
The featured presenters will be Hillsborugh Township's Construction Official John Fiedler who will discuss the permitting process with recommendations, suggestions and tips that will help you to get through it easier and quicker; and SCORE, the organization that mentors small businesses and holds free counseling sessions in Hillsborough's Municipal Building.
I encourage all attendees to bring literature and offer door prizes to help promote your business. Please send me an email at gstrupinsky@hillsborough-nj.org if you would like to provide a door prize. There will be literature tables set-up around the room for your information to be on display.
The fee will be $10.00 payable at the event by cash.

Hillsborough's
"Small Business Recycling Center"
Promoting the Small Business Recycling Center which is available for all Hillsborough businesses. It is located in the Municipal Complex at 379 South Branch Road.
It is at the west end of the complex off of South Branch Road and is the part of the complex that is nearest to the YMCA, the Corner Store and the Department of Public Works. It is located in the complex's upper parking lot near the children's playground. It faces the library and the Health and Social Service Departments in the Municipal Building.
Taking advantage of this new recycling center is the recently opened Spoon & Sprout Café in Kingsbridge Center (378 South Branch Road) diagonally across from the Municipal Complex. Owners Geetha and Ramesh Jayaraman brought their recyclables (bottles, cans, cardboard, etc.) to the center for recycling.
Other Hillsborough businesses are encouraged to do the same at this convenient location. It is good for their business, for the Township (which gets additional county grant funding) and the environment.

A new feature has been added to the EBDC's website called "Dine Hillsborough First". It is shown in the Navigation Bar to the left (the fourth drop down link from the top).
We urge restaurant owners to include in their website profiles uploaded menus, coupons, special and other offers throughout the year. If you have difficulty doing this, please send them to Gene Strupinsky at gstrupinsky@hillsborough-nj.org and we'll get it posted to your profile.
